Belvoir

Leicestershire

Once a Norman stronghold, probably built as a motte and Bailey structure

by Robert de Todeni soon after the Battle of Hastings, it was restored in 1525.

The present building dates from 1800 when the then owner the Duke of Rutland had the

castle rebuilt by the architect James Wyatt.
